With the ASN, a variety of systems can be monitored through network and DSL lines.  These systems include:

Did you know that nearly half of all reported telecommunications outages are due to human error?  According to IEEE Computer in 2004, approximately 49% of all outages were caused by either external human error or company human error.  Because the ASN was designed to mimic human processes, human error could be greatly reduced when the ASN is monitoring your network and systems.

 

Not only can systems be monitored, but companies can also sell individual security systems to their telephone customers.  Then, using the ASN, monitor these security systems through the customer’s DSL line.

 

Some basic security monitoring points include:

• Door contact points including closures
• Window contact points including closures
• Surveillance cameras including on/off condition and scheduling*

 

Some specialized functions include:

• Electric Eye Beam monitor including on/off alarm conditions
• Read access control including keypads, readers, and cards
