Syslog Server

Syslog Server emits, stores, and processes meaningful log messages from routers, firewalls,switches, Unix hosts, and other syslog-enable devices. The system receives syslog messages from network devices, displays them in real-time, then acts on those messages according to user configurations. The syslog messages can be filtered and processed based on facility, severity, timestamp, host, tag, and message.

    Syslog Server can:

  • Troubleshoot routers, firewalls, and devices both during installation and in problem situations
  • Detect network intrusions quickly and easily before unrepairable damage occurs
  • Track user and admin activity
  • Create and send summary reports via e-mail to network personnel on a scheduled basis

    Syslog messages can then be processed using events like:

  • Display the message in a scrolling window
  • E-mail the message to appropriate personnel
  • Call and speak the message to appropriate personnel
  • Text or page the message to appropriate personnel
  • Log the message to a text file
  • Send an SNMP Trap message
  • Run an external program
  • Trigger a sound alarm

Each Syslog Server ships with the RLJL MasterComm™. This allows the user to build Button Objects using the RLJL Language to take any special action needed beyond the notifications provided by the Syslog Server on a syslog message.

 

The complete server will be drop shipped to location with software installed.
