Pinger Server is a system administrator's tool, used to see
if a computer is operating or if network connections are intact.
Ping should be your first stop for network troubleshooting. Pinger
Server uses the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Echo
function
to send a small packet through the network to a particular
IP address. If the connections are good and the target computer
is up, a good return packet will be received. Additionally, Pinger
Server can be used to test out name resolution. If the packet
bounces back when sent to the IP address but not when sent to
the name, then the system is having a problem matching the name
to the IP address.
Each Pinger Server ships with the RLJL MasterComm™. This allows the user to build Button Objects using the RLJL Language to take any special action needed beyond the notifications provided by the Pinger Server on a ping failure event.
Complete server will be drop shipped to location with software
installed.
