| Tecchies at the Bottom - Setting Up a Wireless Network
Are you tired of being "tied down" to your Internet service? Wouldn't you love the ability to surf the web and send emails from any location of your home or office? Well, you can. All you need is a wireless network.
Below is a list of the things that you will need to setup a wireless network in your home or office:
-
A wireless pc card or adapter for each computer
-
The latest operating system (Windows XP or higher works the best)
-
A wireless router
-
DSL or cable modem Internet service
After you have all the items above, find a central location in your home or office for the wireless router (for the best possible signal, make sure the router is at highest point). Next, follow the quick start guide provided with the router to configure the device. Then, configure each wireless pc card or adapter to recognize the router.
If you need any assistance with setting up a wireless network in your home or office or would like dscTech, Inc. to do the work for you, please contact Melissa Green at melissa@dsctech.net for pricing. |
