New SNMP Cable Modem Poller
The New SNMP Cable Modem Poller is able to poll cable modems, set top boxes, NIDs and many other devices that have Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) capabilities. Although there are many other products out there like this, the SNMP Cable Modem Poller is much more efficient. It is designed to work with large groups of objects, which makes the SNMP Cable Modem Poller able to give a more real-time view of your network.
The SNMP Cable Modem Poller gives you the option of running a programmable button, based on the RLJL scripting language, if the equipment becomes unresponsive. There is even the capability to set up groups so that if a certain number of objects within that group go down, you run a button based on that group. Whether notifying personnel or interacting with equipment, there are several actions that can be taken by the RLJL buttons.
For more information about the SNMP Cable Modem Poller or to try a demo version, please call us at 706-856-3282 or email sales@dsctech.net

Techies on the Bottom~What's next for GPS?
Everywhere you turn, cars have GPS in them nowadays. Quite frequently you can see people arguing with their GPS about the direction it is taking them (I only do this occasionally). So really, at this point, what more can GPS do? According to the TOMTOM© web site, they have recently released LIVE Services that only come on a new TOMTOM® LIVE device. The LIVE Services include HD Traffic™ with real time traffic updates every 2 minutes, current fuel prices, and weather forecasts. Yes, you have to pay a yearly price for these services, and spend a nice little chunk of change for the new device, but just think about the time you could save, not to mention knowing the cheapest gas prices! It could totally be worth it in the long run. And I am sure that soon enough, TOMTOM® will have competitors as other GPS companies start their real time traffic services.
TomTom® is a registered trademark of TomTom International
