ASN Poller Agent

The ASN Poller Agent is a SNMP polling tool that can be used with the ASN SNMP module or as a stand alone system. It is designed for SNMP polling applications where the need for splitting up SNMP agents into groups for network monitoring or testing is needed.

 

Each ASN Poller Agent supports 256 polling lists. Each list can be configured to poll and test up to 10,000 agents. Properties can be set for each list to trigger a failure for the list when a target number of failures occur in a given poll. The list failure can generate a user-defined trap message to be sent to the ASN SNMP module or any other SNMP trap server, as well as generating notification e-mail alerts. This same process will also provide alarm clear SNMP trap notification and e-mail alerts when the failures of the poll list are back within acceptable limits.

 

The ASN Poller Agent has the ability to poll each agent for up to 15 OIDs and allows the results of each OID to be compared to determine pass or fail of each agent. It has a MIB compiler which allows for easy OID conversion for polling, and also provides the ability to compose and send daily summary reports of the day’s polling activity via email. The summary reports can be done on a per-polling list basis.
